Embark in Lyon, France’s culinary capital, and enjoy an evening cruise to illuminated Pont d'Avignon. Discover dynamic Lyon, starting in Fourvière Hill, part of the city’s historic region that is now a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the 19th-century basilica Notre-Dame de Fourvière.
Continue to the old town of Lyon, followed by a guided walk through the St. Jean district, where you will learn about the city's unique covered walkways, known as "traboules.”

Day 3: Villefranche-sur-Saone

Day 4: Vienne
Situated between the wine regions of Beaujolais and Côtes du Rhône lies Vienne, with a Roman past that can be seen in its marvelously preserved ruins.

Days 5: Tournon
You have a choice of three excursions.

Day 6: Tarascon
The Provençal town of Tarascon is known for its medieval architecture and charming tales—especially the legend of the Tarasque monster.
Join a guided walking tour where you'll visit the Roman ruins of Arles, such as its Roman Amphitheater and the Church of Saint Trophime, famous for its Romanesque architecture.
Alternatively, you can enjoy a bike ride along the Rhône, through town to the Langlois Bridge, a famous subject from several Vincent Van Gogh paintings.
And for those who wish to delve further into Van Gogh's Arles, join a special walking tour and a visit to the Vincent van Gogh Foundation, showcasing his legacy.
During the afternoon, you'll visit the beautiful medieval fortress, the Castle of Tarascon—a fortress designed to protect but surprises all with its elegant interior, fit for royalty.
Or venture to the medieval hilltop village, Les Baux de Provence, and then delve deeper into the Carrières de Lumières, where you'll be treated to a spectacular presentation of art, sound, and history projected on the former limestone quarry walls
of caves.
Enjoy a short cruise to Pont d’Avignon bridge, illuminated against the night sky in the evening.
Day 7: Avignon
Avignon, aptly named the “City of Popes,” was the center of the Catholic Church in the 14th century when its “Palais des Papes” was the equivalent of today’s Vatican.
Depending on your interests, you have three choices of excursions for the morning.

Discover the history of Avignon on a guided walking tour that includes the Papal Palace and the well-preserved medieval walls surrounding the historic center of town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

During the afternoon, you can go to another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the impressive Pont du Gard, a Roman aqueduct that is a masterpiece of ancient engineering.
Alternately, you can go to the magnificent hilltop village, Grignan. After visiting this enchanting Provençal town, search for the highly prized "Black Diamond" truffles with a farmer and his trustworthy canine companion.
Day 8: Avignon
Bid farewell to Avignon and prepare for your flight home.

Days 1: Cairo
Arrive in Cairo and settle into your hotel.
Days 2: Cairo
A full day of captivating attractions awaits, beginning with the exquisite Egyptian Museum, with its 120,000 artifacts on display. Home to some of the greatest masterpieces ever crafted, its unique collection of Pharaonic art includes mummies and the priceless treasures of Tutankhamen, the Boy King.
Then, visit the Mosque of Muhammad—also known as the Alabaster Mosque—which majestically sits on the summit of the Citadel of Saladin's courtyard. From the arcaded courtyard, enjoy the breathtaking view across the city to the Pyramids of Giza. Inside the Mosque, marvel at an ornate interior and a splendid array of lamps suspended from the intricately decorated ceiling.
Afterward, head to Al-Azhar Park in the heart of Old Cairo for a welcome lunch.
Days 3: Cairo
Discover the monuments at the UNESCO-designated ancient capital of Memphis. You'll visit the enormous statue of Ramses II, the Alabaster Sphinx, and the necropolis of Sakkara—the site of the famous step pyramid of King Zoser, the oldest pyramid on earth.
You’ll then go to the Great Sphinx and the iconic Giza complex, which consists of three large pyramids built between 2589 BC and 2504 BC.
Days 4: Cairo & Luxor
After checking out of the hotel, take a morning flight south to Luxor—formerly known as Thebes, the capital city of the New Kingdom of Upper Egypt. Luxor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to two astonishing temples—Karnak and Luxor.
Be welcomed aboard your luxurious river ship to begin your Nile River Valley cruise. Later this afternoon, visit the Temple of Luxor, constructed over hundreds of years by Amenhotep III, Ramses II, Tutankhamun, and other pharaohs.
After your visit, continue to experience Egyptian magic with a traditional folkloric-style belly dance on board your ship.
Day 5: Luxor
Visit the tombs of ancient Egypt in the Valley of the Kings, one of the most famous archeological sites in the world. The spectacular rock-cut tombs on the west bank of Luxor include that of the enigmatic King Tutankhamun, whose mummified remains are still on display.
Afterward, go to Deir el-Bahri to see the Temple of Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s most successful pharaohs and its first female ruler. Next, you’ll visit the Valley of Queens, home to the mummified remains of more than 30 queens and princesses, including Nefertari’s Tomb, where you’ll enjoy exclusive
access.
Your day’s adventure concludes with an up-close view of the Colossi of Memnon—two gigantic statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III.
Day 6: Edfu
The city of Edfu is best known for one of Egypt’s most remarkably preserved temples, dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god. Built in 230 BC, it is the second-largest temple in Egypt and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with walls that display compelling details about the religion and language of the country’s Greco-Roman period.
After visiting Edfu, relax on board and take in the Nile River's timeless landscapes as the ship continues to Aswan.
Day 7: Aswan
Board a motorboat and cruise to the colorful Nubian Village of Hessa.

Explore the UNESCO-designated Philae Temple complex, with one of the most stunningly restored and preserved hieroglyphs in Egypt, built between 380 BC and 362 BC and dedicated to the goddess Isis, the wife of Osiris and mother of Horus.
Later in the day, take a peaceful ride in a felucca, a traditional Egyptian sailboat, around the beautiful Elephantine Island, which locals say is the home to the legendary Egyptian god Khnum.
Cap the day off with an optional late afternoon tea at the historic Old Cataract Hotel, a 19th-century Victorian Palace crafted in rose granite. Delight in an authentic “high tea” experience and revel in the stunning views of your oasis—Aswan and Elephantine Island.
Tonight, there is an optional outing to a sound and light show at Philae Temple.
Day 8: Aswan & Kom Ombo
Enjoy free time in Aswan or go on an optional excursion to Abu Simbel (must be pre-booked).
If you purchased the optional excursion, you'll take an early morning flight over Lake Nasser to Abu Simbel. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is more than 3,000 years old, is dedicated to Ramses II, one of the most active pharaohs. The front of the main temple, discovered half buried in sand in 1813, has four gargantuan statues of Ramses II on his throne, each measuring nearly 70 feet high. The smaller temple is dedicated to his chief wife, Queen Nefertari.
During the afternoon, cruise to the Great Temple of Kom Ombo, where its soaring columns rise above the Nile River. Unique in Egypt, this temple is dedicated to two gods—the crocodile god, Sobek, sitting on the right, and the falcon-headed Haroeris, “The Good Doctor.”
After visiting Kom Ombo, relax on board and take in the Nile River's timeless landscapes as the ship continues to Esna. In the evening, join your crew outside on the sundeck in a celebration of local customs with the chance to don a Galabeya, traditional Egyptian attire, and toast to the rich
culture and history of the Nile River Valley.
Day 9: Luxor
Spend the morning with scenic cruising along the glistening Nile River, and relax on the sundeck as you cruise from Esna back to Luxor.
First, explore the Temple of Karnak, the largest religious complex in Egypt and one of the largest in the world, covering about 200 acres in a vast network of columns, hieroglyphics, obelisks, sphinxes, and colossi—even a lake. The Hypostyle Hall is a great architectural marvel and filled with its roof blocks, supported by colossal 134 columns standing at 70 feet high, with 12 larger columns standing at 80 feet high lining the central aisle. It is still the largest room of any religious building in the world.
Then discover the art of papyrus making with a museum visit. Learn how the ancient Egyptians used the extraordinary aquatic papyrus plant--that flourished in the Egyptian Delta and Nile River Valley--to make sails, cloth, food, and paper for important documents and texts.
Day 10: Qena
Set sail to Qena to explore its ancient Egyptian heritage.
You’ll go to Dendara to visit the best-preserved temple in Egypt, the Temple of Hathor—the Goddess of Love, to whom the powers of joy, feminine love, and motherhood were attributed. The temple was built by Ptolemy and a group of Romans who worshipped her.
Following your visit here, sail back to Luxor.
Day 11: Luxor & Cairo
Disembark the ship in Luxor and fly back to Cairo, where you will be taken to the Abdeen Presidential Palace, considered one of the most luxurious palaces in the world. The palace consists of multiple museums, including the Silver Museum, Arms Museum, Royal Family Museum, Presidential Gifts Museum, and a Historical Documents Museum. It is also one of the official residences and places of work for the President of Egypt.
Afterward, be treated to a very special lunch at the palace. Finally, you’ll explore the old part of the city, which includes Coptic Cairo, where the Hanging Church and Ben Ezra Synagogue are located.
Day 12: Cairo
Bid farewell to Cairo and prepare for your flight home.
Day 1-2: Bangkok, Thailand
Arrive in Bangkok and transfer to your luxury hotel. The next day, begin to discover this city of contrasts:

Day 3: Luang Prabang, Laos

Day 4: Luang Prabang
Today, rise before dawn to participate in tak bat, a silent ceremony offering food to local monks walking meditation with their alms bowls. Then, visit a local market, followed by breakfast at your hotel.
Later, explore the Royal Palace Museum and Wat Xieng Thong with its impressive tree of life mosaic and richly decorated wooden columns.
After lunch, return to your hotel for a relaxing afternoon at your leisure, during which you may choose from one of the hotel’s Laotian-inspired spa treatments, including a detoxifying cleanse delivered by a healer from the local Hmong tribe.
Day 5: Luang Prabang
Lush rice fields define the landscape of Laos. This morning, experience a closer look during an enriching farm-to-village tour. Explore every stage of the rice harvest before tasting local snacks made from this regional staple.
Transfer out of town and meet a friendly local farmer who personally takes you around his family’s farm for an authentic “crop to bowl” experience in Laos. Stroll through verdant fields to learn about the types of crops grown here and how they are traditionally harvested and used, exploring every stage of the rice harvest.
Help tend to the produce in the organic vegetable garden.
Then, head indoors for a hands-on cooking experience, learning how to transform grains of rice from the field into long strands of Lao noodles used in a spicy Lao soup called khao poon.
The best part of this experience is tasting the delicious fruits of your labor in the form of local snacks made from this regional staple. Enjoy lunch on your own, followed by a relaxing afternoon at your hotel, perhaps by the pool or natural waterfall.

Days 6: Luang Prabang & Siem Reap, Cambodia
Start the day early this morning and travel to stunning Kuang Si Falls for a guided meditation led by a local expert.
Enjoy a picnic breakfast along the cascading waters, then explore a path running along a wide multi-tiered fall. Finally, cool off with a refreshing swim or walk the forest trails. This afternoon, fly to Siem Reap and transfer to your hotel, where you'll enjoy a delicious dinner.
Days 7: Siem Reap
This morning, set out for the incredible temples of Angkor. Ride a tuk-tuk or choose to cycle to Angkor Thom, visiting the richly decorated Bayon Temple.
Enjoy an afternoon at leisure at your hotel before setting out by tuk-tuk for a progressive dining tour of Siem Reap, sampling specialties from three
local restaurants.
Day 8: Siem Reap
Wake early to witness sunrise at Angkor Wat and a moving view of its sacred temple. Continue to Ta Prohm, its crumbling towers and walls draped in a wild jungle.
Return to your hotel for breakfast and a relaxing morning at leisure. Later this afternoon, visit Banteay Srei, known as the “Citadel of the Women.”
Days 9-11: Krabey Island
Fly to Sihanoukville, continuing by speedboat to private Krabey Island, a less-frequented oasis off Cambodia’s coast.

Days 12-13: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
After breakfast on Day 12, fly to Ho Chi Minh City and transfer to your hotel. Depart the next day on your international flight home.
